Is Samantha Akkineni The True Akkineni Heir? Akkineni Nageswara Rao has established a great legacy which has been carried forward successfully by King Akkineni Nagarjuna. However, the family has been struggling to get real success in the third generation. Both Naga Chaitanya, and Akhil has failed to live up to the expectation.

Under the circumstances, one can’t help but feel if Samantha is the true Akkineni heir. It is not a direct “commercial” comparison as there is the apparent disparity between and male and female star. We all know films like Shailaja Reddy Alludu, Savyasachi, and Mr Majnu which are absolute failures done more than U Turn, a solo Samantha starrer.

What we mean to say here is that Samantha has inherited the excellent script sense and sharp acumen in judging the scripts that Nagarjuna possesses. It doesn’t mean she won’t have failures; she would like Nagarjuna also has, but she has successfully carved a niche around herself. If it’s a Samantha starrer there is bound to be something in it, is the impression that she has created.

Take a look at some of the recent movies of Samantha. Majili, Super Deluxe, U Turn, Seema Raja, Irumbu Thirai (Abhimanyudu), Mahanati, Rangasthalam, Mersal, Raju Gari Gadhi 2, Rangasthalam, Janatha Garage, A Aa –phew, that’s a long list. The films are the right mixture of commercial entertainers and content-oriented subjects, and while some may have failed, many of them are the career-best films of the respective stars. She doesn’t happen to star in them by a fluke; they are the choices made by Samantha. With Majili, Naga Chaitanya is all set to get his career best solo performance as a star.

Here’s wishing Samantha gets better at what she does and hope it rubs off on other Akkineni heroes as well. Right now, the actress is going through a glorious phase, and all she needs is a solid female-driven blockbuster to cement her position further.
