A piece of big news doing the rounds in Bollywood circles for the past many weeks has finally become official. Shankar is collaborating with Ranveer Singh for a new pan-India adaptation of his blockbuster Aparichitudu. It makes one wonder if Shankar is interested in RC15 or is it a forced commitment taken by him. Additionally, if Charan is making a huge mistake at a crucial time.
What makes one think that way is the line-up of Shankar given the latest announcement. First of all, Shankar has to finish Indian 2, which is halted mid-way. If it is wrapped hurriedly, it is sure to be a box office failure that will impact RC15.
Now, let’s assume that Indian 2 doesn’t happen and is stalled as it is. The shooting of RC15 starts as announced in July or August. Now, the latest announcement suggests Shankar will be busy with the Aparichitudu remake from mid-2022. It means RC15 would be wrapped quickly for the Bollywood biggie.
The sequence of events and director Shankar visible enthusiasm towards Aparichitudu adaptation makes one wonder if RC15 is something he is not wholeheartedly into. Is the project forced onto him? Questions like these pop up when we hear the rumours regarding RC15.
From Charan’s side, a half-hearted effort like RC15 could prove to have diminishing returns, especially in the wake of RRR. It is his follow up movie to RRR, after all. It could prove to be a costly mistake for him career-wise with such a product.
Right now, only three people, Dil Raju, Ram Charan and Shankar knows what’s happening in reality. The fans and general moviegoers have nothing but speculations in their mind, and they aren’t positive ones. Let’s see if the team brings back positivity in them.
