The India HouseRam Charan has just announced that he is producing a film with Nikhil Sidhartha in the lead titled The India House on the occasion of controversial Hindu leader Veer Savarkar. The film will be produced by Abhishek Agrawal, who also made the alleged propaganda movie, The Kashmir Files.

The film will depict that chapter in history when Savarkar stayed in The India House, a student hostel for Indians in Britain, while studying law. The hostel became a hub of meetings of students like Veer Savarkar, Madan Lal Dhingra, and Lala Har Dayal, among others. Some historians say the India House quickly became the headquarters of the Indian revolutionary movement in London.

While a section of right-wing people believe Savarkar was greater than the likes of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, there is a section of liberals and left-wing ideologists who believe Savarkar was a coward who wrote mercy petitions to the British government when he was put in jail.

Ram Charan producing a film that will give some boost to the agenda of a few people who want to spread their propaganda and change history might not go down well with people who like to see things from a balanced perspective.

There is a talk on social media that Ram Charan will lose a chunk of his audience as he is trying to please a certain section of people with an agenda. But there are also people who say that Charan will gain more fans with this type of movies because of the Hindutva wave going on in the country, which made blockbusters out of films like The Kashmir Files and The Kerala Story.
