‘Fidaa’ is out an out a Sai Pallavi’s film. The actress owned her character like it is her real life persona and she had been the show stealer. How would a star hero like Mahesh Babu fit into this entire phenomenon called as ‘Fidaa’, a breezy romantic drama?
Speaking about narrating ‘Fidaa‘ story to Mahesh Babu, Sekhar Kammula says that he would have changed the script as per the requirements of featuring a superstar if Mahesh Babu had accepted the movie. He knows the stardom of the superstar and hence, knows how to write the screenplay to suit the star hero.
Maybe, he wouldn’t be able to shoot in Bansuwada but he would have made changes accordingly. After ‘Fidaa’ came to theatres, Mahesh rejecting this story didn’t become a talking point at all as a young hero like Varun Tej is apt for the role.
Sekhar Kammula made another important statement. In an interview, he said that he had at least 15-20 lakhs fans and they would watch his film any day, even if his film releases opposite a big star film. Of course, there are some loyal Sekhar Kammula’s fans but prior to ‘Fidaa’, he lost his mojo and they too stopped expecting much from him. ‘Fidaa’ is a great comeback for the director.
