Sandeep Reddy Vanga who created history giving star status to Vijay Deverakonda and giving the biggest blockbuster for ‘Shahid Kapoor, once wanted to be director Rajamouli’s assistant director. Rajamouli has 20 assistant directors, already.
Instead of waiting to catch the attention of Rajamouli among his 20 assistant directors, the ‘Arjun Reddy’ director decided to tread his own path. That’s why he wrote his own script, tried to get a producer for it. When he didn’t get any, his brother chose to produce the film for him. The rest is history.
Presently, the director is enjoying this phase as a filmmaker who gave back-to-back blockbusters in two different languages. Though he was slammed by the critics for his misogynist stance, Sandeep Reddy sees the things differently. He thinks that the South critics weren’t as harsh as Bollywood critics.
He is presently working a new script and according to the rumours that surfaced, the Telugu director, the self-declared fanboy of megastar Chiranjeevi might soon team up with Bollywood young hero Ranbir Kapoor.
