Veteran actor Giri Babu who had shared screen space with megastar Chiranjeevi in numerous films in the past made an interesting observation about Chiranjeevi’s recent period film ‘Sye Raa’.
In a recent interview, Giri Babu revealed that when he watched ‘Sye Raa’ before release, he liked the movie very much but was skeptical about its success and even told Chiru it wouldn’t be a success. It’s a nicely made movie about the first fight for independence.
However, it has been 75 years since we got our independence and the present youth is not interested to watch freedom struggle movies, anymore as it has become a distant past, past three generations.
According to the veteran, movies like ‘Baahubali’ with new narratives or struggle with Pakistan will get the attention of the present youth rather than freedom struggle stories. Though ‘Sye Raa’ got good reviews, it fell flat on the expectations at the box-office, we know.
