Director Santosh Srinivas who is coming with Sankranthi release ‘Alludu Adhurs’ featuring Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas seems to be taking a gap of at least a couple of years between his movies. Though he denies taking a gap, his filmography from 2011 to 2021 shows only four releases as a director.
Talking about the competition between OTT and theatres, he thinks that theatre audiences are always stronger than OTT audiences. “They are perfect audiences and I’ll believe only them. They don’t watch films on OTT even if they were offered free viewing on OTTs,” says the director.
“I am a theatre audience and would like to watch movies only in theatres. So, I make films for only theatre audiences,” and he also thinks that audiences’ attention will be more while watching a movie in theatres. But, on OTT there will be disturbances and we have a remote to stop and watch again.
Therefore, there wouldn’t be proper attention, says the director. Santosh Srinivas says that making films OTT platforms is not his cup of tea though he doesn’t know what the future has got for him, he would like to maker films for theatres, only.
