hyderabad heritage tagExperts believe that Hyderabad’s chances of bagging the coveted UNESCO World Heritage Site tag improved after the Center withdrawing its official Delhi nomination to the World Heritage Committee. Hyderabad’s application, which lists the Qutub Shahi Monuments ‘Charminar, Golconda and the royal necropolis, the Qutub Shahi Tombs’ is the only entry available with the World Heritage Committee now.

Heritage experts believe that of the KCR government manages to lobby well with the Central government which can push the Hyderabad dossier for the committee’s reconsideration. Hyderabad had applied for this tag way back in 2010.

The committee will examine the nominations in Bonn, Germany in June and July and then decide up on the list. The united Andhra Pradesh had appointed Lambah as its consultant and the Hyderabad dossier was compiled by her.
