Whenever our hereos try to touch controversial subjects they should be mentally ready to welcome a lot of outcry from certain sections of the society. Touching the sentiments of a particular class of people, in certainity would ignite fire. The audio launch event of a Tamil movie ‘Pulipaarai’ was held in Chennai on 16th August. A students union protested raising slogans and demanded the ban of Samanta-Vijay Ilayapathy starrer ‘Kaththi’ alongwith the ban on ‘Pulipaarai’ which is rumoured to be based on the death of LTTE Chief Prabhakaran’s son Balachandran.

Superstar Ilayapathy Vijay’s upcoming movie ‘Kaththi’ has been facing flak because of the alleged investment made by the Lyca Productions. It is alleged the investment has been made by the close aides of Sri Lankan President Rajapakshe, who has earned hatred from Tamilians across the globe for his part in mass murders of Tamilians in Srilanka. Even after the clarifications given by the makers that there is no connection to Rajapakse, the students’ unions aren’t in a mood to listen. Seems Samanta’s fate in Kollywood isn’t going on smooth lines.
