The government of India has conferred the Padma Shri award to Kinnera artist, Mogulaiah for his service to the field of arts. Mogulaiah is one of the last recognized ‘Padhaharu Metla Kinnera’ artists in the twin Telugu states. Mogulaiah came to the limelight with Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak.
He is seen playing his Kinnera in the title song of the film and also appeared in the Lyrical video of the song. Thaman, in an earlier interview, revealed how Mogulaiah is the find of Pawan Kalyan. “Pawan Kalyan garu recommended him to Trivikram garu and we decided to have him on board,” Thaman said.
“He is like a Matti Manishi. He did not even understand when we asked because he is so distant from films and even Hyderabad. They took three-four days to get used to the city. Pawan Kalyan garu Trivikram garu also wanted him to be seen. Around 20-30 Lakhs were spent for the video alone,” Thaman revealed.
Pawan Kalyan also extended some monetary help to Mogulaiah. From then, he has become a famous name in both the Telugu states. We do not know if Bheemla Nayak played a role in Padma Shri but Mogulaiah claims that Pawan Kalyan changed his life forever.
