Yatra Star Mammootty's DubbingMammootty has set many precedents as an actor that make his die-hard fans proud of him. Everyone will feel that he is worth all the credit when one comes to know about his dedication and the hard work he continues to do even after achieving the superstar status, long back. Presently, the topic of discussion is his dubbing.

In a week’s gap, two of Mammootty’s movies were released and both of them were not Malayalam movies in his mother tongue. ‘Peranbu’ that has been receiving great critical acclaim is in Tamil and ‘Yatra’, of course, it is in Telugu. The Malayalam superstar dubbed in his voice for both the movies. Especially, he had to learn Telugu to dub for ‘Yatra’. Even then, he chose to dub in Telugu. That has immensely helped in accolades for the way he portrayed YSR on screen in ‘Yatra’.

Long back, he turned down a Bengali film offer by Rituparno Ghosh, an acclaimed Bengali director only because he didn’t have time to learn Bengali. In the case of ‘Yatra’, the superstar took the help of a voice coach while dubbing and for ‘Peranbu’, the director made Mammooty dub for his role four times till he got the pronunciation right. Mammootty believes that a good performance is incomplete unless one dubs in his/her own voice.

He is totally right and he totally owned the soul of ‘Yatra‘ and his dubbing didn’t become an issue as he didn’t try to imitate YSR but got everything right with emotional connection.
