‘Paavai Kadhaigal’ (translated as ‘Stories of Sin’) is the second Tamil anthology that has been receiving rave reviews after the recent release ‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai’ on Netflix. Both the anthologies have stories told by directors Sudha Kongara and Gautam Vasudeva Menon among others.
Coming to the latest anthology with four stories, ‘Paavai Kadhaigal’, Telugu girl Anjali did a bold character, in fat a lesbian in one of the stories titled ‘Love Panna Uttranum’. There is one bold scene between the lead pair, Anjali and Kalki Koechlin. Though it’s built like a bold character, there is a twist to that one.
Besides Anjali’s story, there is our Sai Pallavi’s gut-wrenching story that revolves around honour killing starring Prakash Raj as the father. Sai Pallavi literally added life to the role making it as real as it could be. Besides these two stores, there is Simran in Gautham Menon’s story where their teenage girl is raped and how the parents deal with it.
After the above-mentioned three bold themes, there is another one which speaks about the ordeals of a transgender who wants to be treated as an equal not mocked at and it’s directed by Sudha Kongara, the woman who has been hogging the limelight for the way she speaks boldly with the of the characters she brings forth.
