hyderabad HOax phone callsAfter the Nalgonda Encounter and the alerts of increased SIMI terrorists movement in Telangana, Hyderabad Police were alert but were very disturbed by the hoax calls about bombs and armed men at railway stations, temples and public places in Cyberabad, Hyderabad and surrounding districts. Police have received at least 10 such calls after the encounter. A similar trend was observed after the Dilsukhnagar Bomb blast.

Most of these calls were doing the calls for ‘fun’ and some to check, the alertness of Police on such tipoffs. Most of these callers use Public Telephones to make such calls. Only those who use their cell phones or their relative’s phones were caught. In 2014, the police received 38 hoax calls. Around 50 fake calls were received soon after the Dilsukhnagar blasts.

These hoax calls received in Railway Stations create a big problem as trains are stopped from going and coming to that station until the checkings are complete and as a result the trains do get delayed causing a huge discomfort for passengers. One such incident occured in Secunderabad Railway Station on Saturday.
