‘Sye Raa’ was expected to open less compared to ‘Saaho’ as the latter was Prabhas’ movie after the magnanimous ‘Baahubali, The Conclusion’. ‘Saaho’ collected Rs. 24 crore on opening day and ‘Sye Raa’ could manage only Rs. 1.5 crores.
‘Sye Raa’ has the advantage of good praises from Bollywood critics and this might reflect in the word of mouth too, in the coming days. It may pick up slowly, but that might not be much to say that it would the next big thing in Bollywood from the Telugu industry.
Even Amitabh Bachchan on the Bollywood posters didn’t help ‘Sye Raa’ for opening good if not excellent. However, this analysis is with regarding only the Hindi belt as in the home turf, ‘Sye Raa’ is megastar Chiranjeevi’s dream project and audiences are lauding ‘The Boss is Back’.
While ‘Sye Raa’ opening was Rs. 1.55 crore on opening day, Hollywood movie ‘Joker’ Rs. 6 crore nett in all the languages across the country.
