Employment is going to come down drastically and Tollywood actors and technicians would be no exemption for this. However, there is no guarantee that the producers would dare to ask star heroes to cut their remuneration unless the heroes want to set an exemplar.
So, the pressure wouldn’t be there on the star heroes and it would be their individual calling, mostly. However, our heroines who get only 5% to 8% of the remuneration our star heroes demand might have to cut short their paycheques.
Heroes have a definite market value and mostly, they carry the entire movies on their shoulders including selling the movie in their name. Though a couple of heroines can also do that, that’s not enough to equal the market value of a hero.
That’s how the male-dominated film industry works. So, heroines and other technicians could be the most affected ones when it comes to remuneration issues. Can’t even think of the plight of the daily-wage workers who depend entirely on Cinema for their livelihood!
