Richa Gangopadhyay heroine of films like Leader, Mirapakai, Mirchi etc will no longer act in movies. The actress had herself confirmed this surprising news via social networking site to her fans and well wishers. However she made it clear that it is not a permanent decision and she would be back after some considerable break. And in the meantime she would be pursuing her academics in US, where she would stay with her family.
The actress says that her journey into the filmdom was an unexpected one. She came to India having no clue about the field and with no godfather to back her. It all happened like a fairy tale and already five years have passed working in the industry across various languages, she said. She has been part of many successful films that were commercial hits and also gave her awards as well. All this, she says she had never anticipated and is therefore grateful to the God for all the success. But as her long term career depends on studies, she said that it was time to move on even though she is still getting a number of offers currently.
Richa Gangopadhyay will be last seen in Bhai before her temporary sabbatical. The film will see her pair up with Akkineni Nagarjuna for the first time in her career. Earlier in the year she was seen in the blockbuster hit Mirchi where she starred opposite Prabhas. We wish the actress all the best for her studies and future endeavors.
