After a smashing debut in 2012 Hindi blockbuster Vicky Donor, Yami Gautham almost took a gap of two years to come out with her next film ‘Total Siyappa’, scheduled to release soon. Yami says that usually after a hit film actors go on a signing spree but she wanted to be careful about the film she would get associated with. That’s why she waited for a good project to come her way.
Yami says it was important for her to do right films because she doesn’t have any strong backing like most top heroines in Bollywood. Therefore, it’s very important for her to not make a wrong move. She says her film ‘Total Siyappa’ will be embraced by audience as it’s a lighthearted film with different shades such emotional, angry and funny. She says while it was a challenge for her to pull off the role, she’s confident audience will like it.
Yami considers John Abraham her mentor for introducing her to Bollywood and kick-starting her career. She also feels the same for Shoojit Sircar, who had directed ‘Vicky Donor’. Yami is also awaiting the release of her Telugu film ‘Courier Boy Kalyan’.
