Here's why Aaha Kalyanam didn't click with the audience
The southern remake of Hindi blockbuster Band Baaja Baarat has released and has been receiving mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike. While expectations were shy high before the release of the film, but when reality hit hard everything came down tumbling. Lets try and understand what went wrong with the remake.

Right from the posters, the film has copied frame-to-frame from the original and that’s an indication the film lacks creativity. Despite being a remake, ideally the film should have been made with local sensibilities, to suit local flavor but unfortunately we only see that the director merely reproduces the original with a new cast. While the production values were high but unfortunately the film only tries to live up to the standard of the original, instead of being concerned about entertaining the audience.

While Nani was good in his role but his attempt to dub in Tamil didn’t go down well with the audience. Vaani makes an excellent south debut but she lacks the south connect to make the audience root for her. I felt she was too good in her and did a great job of playing her role with ease.
