Hansal Mehta ScoopHansal Mehta delivered Scam 1992 in 2020, which was one of the first blockbuster web series in India. Going by the response of critics and the audience, it seems he has delivered another gripping web series for the Indian audience in the form of Scoop.

Hansal Mehta’s web series Scoop simply sparkles and showcases his masterful recounting of the murder of a famous crime reporter and the accusation of another crime reporter alleged to have abetted the murder.

Scoop is based on a book by Jigna Vora titled Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison. Now, if you thought the middle-class scribes do not provide enough masala for a highly successful onscreen adaptation, then Scoop does away with all such preconceived notions.

The series strikes an immediate chord with the audience, and the six episodes simply go by as you decide upon the point of view of the characters and the presenter as the viewer.

The series has an unexpected ensemble cast that adds to the onscreen chemistry of characters and ups the curiosity. For starters, there is Prosenjit Chatterjee, who is the new blue-eyed boy of OTT platforms after Jubilee, and Karishma Tanna, who has simply excelled in her role. Then there is Harman Baweja, who springs a surprise in a comeback of sorts, and YouTube sensation Danish Salt in a cameo.

Well, for now, Scoop is the latest hit that has completely got the Indian OTT audiences engrossed, though there are a few who find the Scoop clichéd and ‘oh so expected.’
