Hamsa's Hollywood inspiration for Rudhramadevi

Actress Hamsa Nandini is playing a warrior princess in Gunasekhar’s Rudhramadevi. She said to prepare for her role in the film she took inspiration form Hollywood film called ‘King Arthur’ starring Keira Knightley. She said although shooting for the film was challenging, she enjoyed it because she scope for performance.

She said that this character required her to learn horse riding, archery and sword-wielding. Hamsa said that It takes about three hours for her get herself ready for the role with the costumes and make up. It was a physically demanding role and pulling it off was challenging. She also said she didn’t idolize any actor for her role of a warrior princess. But she did take some inspiration from Keira Knightley’s film in which she plays a warrior princess too. She said that both their characters are strong and sensuous.

“Rudhramadevi” featuring Anushka Shetty in the lead is being directed by Gunasekhar. It also features Rana Daggubati, Nathalia Kaur, Prakash Raj, Catherine Tresa and Nithya Menen in important roles. It is expected to release in 2015.
