Gunasekhar-auditioned-100-g

Actress Hamsa Nandini says that director Gunasekhar had auditioned over 100 girls before zeroing on her for the role of a warrior princess Madanika in Rudhramadevi. Hamsa is extremely satisfied with the fact that she was chosen as the lucky one out of all those actresses. Hamsa wondered what did Gunasekhar saw in her that convinced him to cast her in an important role in the film.

Apparently, Gunasekhar liked the liveliness in Hamsa and offered her the role. Hamsa admits she had to physically strain for her role, but she’s happy that the film gave her the opportunity to try some action for the first time on the silver screen. She feels doing action may be highly challenging, but it’s fun to see yourself on screen as the action unfolds, she feels. Hamsa hopes to get many more challenging roles such as these as she feels it’s high time she proves herself as an actress.

The film, which is directed by produced by Gunasekhar, is slated to release only in 2015. It features features an ensemble cast of Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati, Aditi Chengappa, Nathalia Kaur, Prakash Raj, Nithya Menen and Baba Sehegal in important roles.
