Nag Ashwin’s Mahanati, the biopic on the life of yesteryear actress Savitri, starred Keerthy Suresh. The role propelled Keerthy Suresh to garner attention big time and boost her career. In fact, her performance fetched her coveted National Award for Best Actress and earned her many accolades for her portrayal as Savitri.
While many saw Keerthy Suresh as the perfect heroine to have gotten into the skin of the role as Savitri, there is one actor who was apprehensive about her casting.
Actor Srinivas Avasarala who happened to play LV Prasad in Mahanati opines that when he first came to know through Nag Ashwin that Keerthy Suresh is getting cast, he thought her to be a misfit for the role.
‘I saw Keerthy Suresh and having seen her in commercial films, I thought she may not fit the bill for Savitri. But my thoughts changed after the makers released her posters which resembled like the yesteryear actress. In fact I grossly underestimated her but she was the perfect one to suit the role,” says Avasarala.
On the work front, Avasarala’s latest flick Nootokka Jillala Andagadu was released recently.
