Normally big heroes ask for bound scripts before giving a nod to any project. In case of notable film maker Goutham Menon, he only gets 80% of his script ready before beginning to shoot and the rest and climax will happen as the shooting progresses. He scripts the climax of his movies only after observing the body language of the hero.
There had been a controversy between hero Suriya and Goutham Menon over the same issue that the director wasn’t ready with the bound script. Big heroes don’t risk like that. But in case of small heroes, Goutham is more comfortable as they don’t ask to reveal the climax.
He is comfortable working with medium budget actors like Jai and Shimbu in Tamil; Nani and Nithin in Telugu. He is adept at taking up bilinguals and having a different star cast for both the versions.
‘Courier Boy Kalyan’ has Nithin playing the lead in Telugu and Jai in Tamil. Likewise his another bilingual has Naga Chaitanya in Telugu and Shimbu in Tamil. The director is comfortable making films that way.
