google acquiring twitterSearch Engine Giant, Google off late is growing envious of the expanding userbase of Microblogging site, Twitter. While no one knows what is happening behind, the two companies have been linked for three times in the recent past.

Google if manages to acquire Twitter, it would be for sure the second-biggest ever acquisition in technology, well ahead of Facebook’s $19bn (£13bn) purchase of WhatsApp in 2013 and behind only the $106bn AOL-Time Warner merger in 2000. Twitter is valued at about $33bn.

Google despite the efforts through Orkut and Google Plus never really managed to make an impact on social networking. While Facebook and Twitter are making so much money out there, Google’s revenue is on a decline. Twitter has 300 million users logging on every month, sending over 500m tweets every day. Google’s best shot on social networking is acquiring Twitter.
