Chief minister KCR serious photo with officials

The ambitious plan of Telangana government to make Golconda Fort as the permanent venue for Independence day celebrations is not happening now. The strong regulations of the Architectural Survey of India (ASI) and Indian Army which claims ownership of some of the lands forced the government to rethink over its decision. The officials say ASI is not in favour of giving permissions for making it a permanent venue but will only take up the issue year wise going further.

Also the Chief Minister wants on display various exhibits depicting Telangana culture but ASI turned it down citing heavy vehicles not to be allowed near the historic monuments. Even the roads leading to the fort are not feasible for mid-sized vehicles. So, Telangana government has dropped the idea of Golconda fort as permanent venue and is seeking new options. Revenue officials have identified 40 acres each in Rajendranagar and Serilingampally mandals for a permanent parade grounds to Telangana state so that the venue will serve all the celebrations of state and national festivals in future.
