Period films are becoming the craze of the day seemingly. Many in Tollywood are hoping that films like ‘Rudramadevi’ and ‘Baahubali’ are going to rock industry very soon. And Kollywood also isn’t far behind. Already Sidharth’s period film ‘Kavya Thalaivan’ is in the last leg of production.
Added to this, superstar Vijay also started a period film with enviable star cast namely all India star Sridevi, Sudeep, Hansika, Shruti Haasan and many big names included. A never before budget amount is being quoted for the film among the film circles. Vijay’s film is on sets presently. Now hero Karthi is also coming with a film of similar genre.
But Karthi’s film isn’t a period film totally. The film’s story will be set in both the historic period and the contemporary world. For the historical part, Nayantara will be playing Karthi’s lady love. After ‘Sri Ramarajyam’ in Telugu, this would be Nayantara’s next period role but the first one in Tamil movies. Many see that Nayan is a perfect in such characters by the worth of her Telugu movie and Sitamma’s role in the epic movie.
