Frustrated Chiranjeevi Fan’s Fierce Open LetterI have always been ardent fan of Megastar Chiranjeevi. I’ve heard about Chiru’s euphoria in the 90s but never experienced it. I did watch and enjoy his vintage hits like Gharana Mogudu and Mutha Mesthiri. But now the directors are feeling as if they have accomplished something by showing the very same style Chiru again now.

“Boss is back… Boss of masses is back… Boss vasthe poonakale… These are the tags that are being given to Chiranjeevi. What are the directors of his films even thinking while giving him these tags?

“Megastar” is a huge tag given only to the biggest star in the industry. There is absolutely no need to give other tags to our beloved Chiru. Boss vasthe poonakale aren’t the tags that the directors should be giving.

If the directors really give mass content which can give goosebumps, the audience and we fans ourselves will give relevant tags for the film. This forced rubbing by directors and producers are only giving troll stuff on social media.

What is even the reason to give these silly tags to Chiru? Do they think the lungi kattu, beedi smoking antics in 90s Chiru style will validate them? This is the Chiru everyone has seen already in Muta Mesthri and Gharan Mogudu which released decades ago. They should instead focus on delivering mass content that appeals to modern day audience. Making routine content and calling it poonakalu is outright silly.

Also the makers are heavily altering Chiru’s looks. They are trying to make him look too perfect with slim looks through VFX and de-ageing technology. This is not what we want from our matinee idol. They should learn from how directors are showing Tamil star Ajith and Malayalam star Mohan Lal.

They are playing their age and looking gracefully elegant. Our directors should also show Chiru in a graceful manner, like the way he is off screen. The VFX modified looks, like in Waltair Veerayya teaser recently are looking very artificial.

What we want from Chiranjeevi’s directors is delivering good content which also brings Chiru close to young audience. Their focus should be on this, rather than pointless tags that serve no purpose. This is not just my own view, but also the opinion of scores of Chiru fans in the world.

Annayya should understand our frustration and his team should see to it. His directors should stop this unwanted Bhajana and stick to delivering good quality output.
