Popular southern actress Shruti Haasan who made her Bollywood debut with the Imran Khan and Sanjay Dutt starrer ‘Luck’ will soon be seen in another Hindi film titled ‘Gabbar’ which is a remake of the famous southern film ‘Ramana’ (Tagore in Telugu). Directed by AR Murugadoss, the Tamil version featured Vijayakanth as the male lead and now Akshay Kumar will play the lead in its Hindi version while Sruthi Haasan will be the female protagonist. Funnily enough the actress starred in a super hit film titled ‘Gabbar Singh’ earlier.
Even though there were rumors about Ileana D Cruz and Tamanna Bhatia bagging the role initially, it has been confirmed that Shruti Haasan will do the part. Sources say that the actress is elated about getting the role and is hoping to make her place in the Hindi film industry with this movie. ‘Krish’ will wield the megaphone for the movie.
