Tamil movie ‘Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum’ (IRIR) is coming to the theatres in Tamil Nadu tomorrow, i.e., on 14th March. After watching the theatrical trailer of the movie, there was an opinion that the movie has shades of Telugu blockbuster, Vijay Deverakonda’s ‘Arjun Reddy’. Was it a fee-make of Arjun Reddy?
The director of the movie denied the comparisons and said that his movie is not a free-make of ‘Arjun Reddy’ and for that matter, it has got nothing to do with ‘Arjun Reddy’. However, he is happy that his movie is being compared to a blockbuster. Except for the comparisons that surfaced online, we feel that IRIR has nothing in common with ‘Arjun Reddy’. This love story is quite different.
Except for the lovemaking scenes and the bearded look of the hero, there is nothing to compare, actually. Vijay Deverakonda and his intense emotions in AR have been a treat to watch but not the expressions of IRIS hero. At the end of the day, not all intense love stories can turn out to be ‘Arjun Reddy’. Films like Arjun Reddy just happen and one can’t plan a movie to become ‘Arjun Reddy’. What say?
