Not one or two, but a total of four Telugu actors are venturing into Bollywood this year. They are Vijay Deverakonda, Rashmika Mandanna, Naga Chaitanya, and Adivi Sesh.
Vijay Deverakonda is making pan-India debut with Liger. He caught Bollywood’s attention with Arjun Reddy and we need to wait and see how Liger fares there.
Then there is Rashmika Mandanna. She was indeed seen in Pushpa which was a huge hit in Hindi. But she did not receive much fame from the same. She is now set to debut with Mission Majnu. The actress has also lined up GoodBye, another Bollywood film. She hopes to make it big in Bollywood as well.
Naga Chaitanya is also entering Bollywood this year with Laal Singh Chaddha. He plays a brief yet important role in the film. This film has Aamir Khan in the lead role so it will obviously get a wide reach. If Chay impresses Bollywood folks with this film, there might be a few more offers from the B-town for him.
Adivi Sesh will be debuting in Bollywood with Major, which is based on 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks. The film has an emotionally gripping premise but given that the Hindi folks have only been lapping up South Indian larger than life action films of late, it remains to be seen how Major fares there.
As many as four Telugu stars are debuting in Bollywood this year in search of pan-India recognition and we need to see how many of them will actually achieve it.
