KCR Foundation Stone Laid for Telangana State New Secretariat Harish Rao AttendsTelangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao laid the foundation for the Grand Secretariat a little while ago KCR decided to build the new secretariat on the existing premises on about 4.5 lakh sq ft area by razing down all 10 structures, including heritage G Block, which got its tag removed through a special Act.

The foundation stone for the new secretariat was laid in the lawn next to the D Block and the construction is expected to cost 400 Crore to the State Exchequer. KCR set a target of Nine Months for the completion. The highlight of the event is the attendance of Former Minister Harish Rao who recently gave a miss to Kaleshwaram Project Inauguration.

KCR is likely to finalize one of the two designs by Chennai-based Aaskar Ponni Architect and Mumbai-based Hafeez Contractor. Once the designs are finalized some of the old buildings located in the existing secretariat will be demolished on the basis of requirement.

The AP government was allotted four blocks in the secretariat complex here after bifurcation of the state in 2014, as Hyderabad was made common capital for both the states for a period not exceeding 10 years. Chandrababu did not co-operate with KCR but after the new government came to Power, Chief Minister Jagan facilitated the construction by giving AP Buildings to Telangana Government.
