Everyone is entitled to have one’s own opinion and if senior actor Chandra Mohan thinks low of titles, awards and felicitations etc, he must be correct in his own right. In a recent interview, the senior actor expressed his opinion on popular titles and felicitations.
He provoked thought when he questioned about not conferring any honorary title like Padmashri for legends like SV Ranga Rao, Savitri, Satyanarayana etc. But, a comedian, Brahmanandam entered Guinness Book of World Records and then was conferred with Padma Shri, later.
According to Chandra Mohan’s opinion, these days it’s easy to get doctorates by spending Rs. 25,000 like Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Dr. Mohan Babu, Dr. Brahmanandam etc. There is one more thing he hates and that is attaching titles like Powerstar, Nata Kireeti, Nata Samrat etc. Once, T. Subbarami Reddy offered him awarding a title and felicitating him. But, he refused because he doesn’t like to have tags attached to his name. Well, as we said initially, everyone is entitled to have their own opinion, aren’t they?
