Prabhas’ much-awaited devotional extravaganza Adipurush postponed its release date to June 16 after the teaser got a not-so-encouraging response.
Adipurush is going to face a three-way clash on June 16 with Hollywood biggies which might dent its box office prospects, especially in the US.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-verse(June 2), Transformers: Rise of The Beasts (June 9), and The Flash (June 16). All three films will be holding the vast majority of the screens in the USA.
It will be interesting to witness how Adipurush shows will be split between languages and how they will manage screens. The Flash is currently booked to occupy most of the Premium Large Format Screens, and Transformers will be retaining many 3D screens for a couple of weeks.
Adipurush will face a real tough time as much of the audience prefers XD and HD screens rather than small auditoriums.
One can only wonder how the distributors of Adipurush can get 3D screens for the film in the USA, with Marvel, DC, and Transformers franchise films releasing in close proximity.
