Five Weeks Of Drought In TollywoodIt’s been five weeks since the Telugu film industry delivered a hit film. After Major and Vikram (dub), the box office has been pretty disastrous for the industry.

Tollywood has suffered flops like Pakka Commercial, Virata Parvam, Ante Sundaraniki, Chor Bazaar, Sammathame, and others in the past few weeks, and now the industry is ready to welcome the new spate of releases.

Starting with Ritesh Rana’s Happy Birthday, which releases today. Director’s previous film Mathu Vadalara was a sleeper hit, and this film is also expected to do well with the urban audience. The ticket prices are slashed so as to attract more footfall. If at all the movie succeeds, even then, it would not be able to compensate for the huge losses suffered in the past few months.

Then there is Ram Pothineni’s mass action drama, The Warriorr. The film has decent hype as the music turned out to be popular. We have to wait and see how the audience responds to this Tamil-styled cop thriller.

Naga Chaitanya’s Thank You also has a lot riding on it. But the hype for this film has been low as of now. The team has to pull up their socks, or else the audience might prefer to watch it on OTT later rather than visiting the theaters.

Ramarao On Duty is also carrying low buzz among the audience as of now. The film has to be exceptionally good, and then word of mouth will probably pull the audience to the theaters.

It will be interesting to see which film will bring cheer to the ailing Tollywood industry.
