Tollywood has registered a pretty good start to 2023 at the USA box office with both the Sankranthi releases – Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy opening very well.
Waltair Veerayya is in pole position with $1.74 million collected till now. The film is ever so close to the breakeven mark of $1.9 million. It will end up as another $2 million film for Chiru after Khaidi 150 and Sye Raa.
The film collected a very impressive $355K on Sunday as it’s going super strong at the box office.
Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy has crossed the values breakeven of $1 million as it has grossed a shade over a million in the US till now.
The Sunday reported gross for Veera Simha Reddy us $65K. This is the second consecutive $1 million grosser for Balakrishna in the US, which was regarded as his weak zone not too long ago.
Varisu(Tamil) has collected $921k till now with the Sunday collections at $176K. The Telugu version has collected $41,980K. The total is at $960K.
Both Sankranthi releases have registered a fruitful first weekend and the second week run will be crucial to decide the range of the profits. For Varasudu, there’s still some distance to go for the breakeven mark.
With Monday being a holiday, marking Martin Luther King Day, these films are hoping to add a few more bucks to the tallies.
