Director Nag AshwinDuring the first wave of Coronavirus, members of the Telugu film industry, beginning from actors to director and producers, waited for the time when the lockdown would be lifted and when they could get back to shooting their respective films. However, during the second wave right now, most of the industry members have decided to stop shooting and have taken the decision to stand by the safety of people, by helping them out in whichever way they can. Interestingly, these industry members seem to be intent on a lockdown this time.

While there are several speculations that there would be a lockdown in the coming days, there is no official confirmation yet. In the meantime, Nag Ashwin has openly supported the idea of a lockdown, on Twitter.

In his Tweet, he said that everyone should be in a self-imposed lockdown, whether or not the government imposes a lockdown on us. He said that those who think lockdown is not the answer, should go and see the situations in and outside of hospitals, and how people are suffering, and how doctors are working tirelessly every day, fighting against Coronavirus.

Several states have announced a lockdown, due to the increasing number of cases in those states. Telangana is still confined to a night curfew, but there are speculations that there might be a lockdown from May 2nd. It is now to be seen what decision the government will take.
