Rajinikanth’s ‘2.0‘ has got a wider release because of the gigantic scale with which it was made. The turn out from the dubbed version in the Hindi markets is decent and Saturday figures are quite impressive, with the movie grossing Rs. 25 crores on the first day of the weekend. This trend shows an overall jump in the collections.
Till now, ‘2.0’ has collected Rs. 62 crore plus and Sunday figures will soon be coming in. By Monday, this movie would be the first ever Rajinikanth’s Hindi film that has entered the 100 crore club. So far, Rajinikanth movies didn’t get such a wide release as ‘2.0’ and it’s a known thing that the first version, ‘Robo’ has collected Rs. 20 crores.
The Hindi version of ‘2.0’ is quite steady and very decent. The trade pundits have carefully been watching to see where the movie is heading and where would it stop. There is a curiosity factor among the critics in the Hindi belt. It is expected to continue the decent run in the coming two weeks as there is no biggie arriving to compete with ‘2.0’. Shankar made a right choice when he saw Akshay Kumar as the antagonist of this sci-fi thriller.
