The South Indian OTT space did not have much to offer over the past few weeks with no big-ticket releases, but things are finally looking promising. A handful of interesting titles are arriving in the South Indian OTT space.
One of the new arrivals in South OTT is Thalapathy Vijay’s Beast. The actioner premiered on Netflix and Sun NXt today. Though, it didn’t garner great reviews, the film has ‘star’ value thanks to Vijay and Pooja, which might evoke some anticipation.
Then comes Mammootty’s Puzhu. The film will premiere on Sony Liv on 12th May. The teaser looked interesting. The film has Mammootty and Parvathy in the lead roles and it is projected as an edge-og-the-seat mystery suspense thriller.
Then there is Kashmir Files, which will arrive on ZEE5 on the 13th of this month. The film is based on Kashmir pundits and it was a huge box office blockbuster. It remains to be seen how this box office blockbuster fares on OTT.
Lastly, we have Mohanlal’s 12th Man which is up for OTT premieres on 20th May. The film is the fourth collaboration between Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph who previously rolled out Drishyam duology.
Though there are no mainstream Telugu films coming up on OTT. There is a fair bit to look forward to in the South OTT space for the regional audience.
