Tears of joy must be running down the cheeks of Akkineni fans to know that ‘Majili’ turned out to be the highest grosser for Naga Chaitanya in the US with $162 K from the premieres. It’s a record for the Akkineni scion.
No doubt, a decent run is expected with positive word of mouth spreading fast. Movie lovers have been literally starving due to the election season. Majili came at the right moment. But, the performances of Sam and Chay are the highlights of the film and that’s where Majili will be scoring bringing real-life wife and husband on to the screen. Films like this need the lead pair to deliver and it wouldn’t be just okay if one of them walks away with the cake.
Both Sam and Chay have delivered neat performances without going overboard. The couple raised the graph with their emotions. This movie is indeed a special and happy moment for fans who were waiting for a decent hit after two duds, one each from Akkineni brothers.
