Film-based games now popular in Telugu

It was started by Hollywood many years ago and Bollywood followed suit many years later. But lately, film-based games have become an integral part of film promotions in India, not just restricted Bollywood, but has also now become part of Telugu and Tamil film industries. One might wonder that the change has happened very late, but it has at least happened and we should be happy about it.

While in Bollywood recent films such as Race, Dhoom 3 and Krrish 3 had special dedicated games rolled out before the release of their films. In Telugu, after Mahesh Babu’s 1:Nenokkadine, which had a special game rolled out, it is now turn of Gunnam Gangaraju’s ‘Chandamama Lo Amrutham’ to have a special game to create strong buzz about the film even before its release. The game titled ‘Amrutham – The Game’ features characters as chefs running constantly to collect as many idlis as possible to score maximum points.

In Tamil, director Vijay’s next film titled Saivam launched its web game recently. Looks like slowly our filmmakers have realized that there’s a strong untapped market in games as well.
