Muttiah Muralitharan has in his prime time supported the policies of Sri Lankan Prime Minister, Mahendra Rajapakaa. It is this choice of cricketer that has got the whole of Tamil Eelam community riled up. They believe that Murali is also in support of the politician.
The makers at mad aware of the issue via the trending on social media. Shame On Vijay Sethupathi was trending all over India post the launch of the motion poster. It made so big noise that the makers had to issue an apology.
The makers of 800 have issued a public apology stating that the movie is a pure biopic and have no political statement associated with it. The motion poster, according to the was designed for the same information.
It needs to be seen if the clarification from the makers, Dar Pictures pacifies the community of Tamil Eelam or not.
Vijay Sethupathi, meanwhile, is garnering extraordinary response for his resemblance with Muttiah Muralitharan. There seems to be no doubt in the mind of makers to continue with the project.
