The first woman in Tollywood to bag a Nandi award for a negative character role in her debut film Anaganaga O Dheerudu, Lakshmi Manchu has been known to break the stereotype left and right. In this very male-dominated industry, she has made a name for herself via her own talent and excellence. Daughter of Mohan Babu, Manchu also has experience working with Oscar-winning actors.

Lakshmi is also unapologetic about her accent. She says that, “My accent is definitely an advantage. People take notice of me and I have got many fans, who want to imitate me!” He career graph also includes a Hindi film with Ram Gopal Verma as well as acting in a Tamil film directed by Mani Ratnam. And with all that, Manchu still has her eyes on bigger things. She says, “Ah! The other day I dreamt I was doing an action sequence and Rajamouli was very impressed.”
