The opinion and the review of a film critic is insignificant when it comes to the box office prospects of the respective film. But not often do we see top media outlets modifying their reviews after getting them live.
Incidentally, a top national media house has now altered their review of Karthikeya 2 and it is India Today.
At first, this media house wrote “too much Sri Krishna references” “ Hinduism fervour” in the headline of their review of Karthikeya 2.
These comments drew a negative response from the netizens. People found fault with the tone and the perspective of the review.
After facing a fair deal of backlash, the media outlet changed their review and toned down their take on “Krishna” angle. They removed the term “too much Krishna references.”
It is perfectly alright to have a strong opinion on the content the film has to offer. But stressing on a point that offends the sentiments of the viewers, while it is at pinnacle point will only draw backlash. This media house got to learn it the hard way now.
