Alarmed by the threatening call, the Chennai police immediately conducted search operations at both the residences only to find out that there were no explosives.

With the help of the cyber-crime wing of Chennai police, the call was traced with the help of the phone number. The miscreant was traced to Coimbatore This guy is said to be suffering from mental health issues and therefore, made a hoax phone call only to spread terror and panic in the area. Further investigation is going on. These kinds of fake calls only create panic and when there is any real threat, one can’t take a chance just imagining it could be a fake call.

This isn’t the first time that the Chennai police received a fake call. Arresting the miscreants and beefing up the security cannot be taken for granted when such threatening calls alert the police. Such fake calls meant for creating panic will be done only by people who are mentally ill like the Coimbatore man who was arrested by the police.
