Fact Check: Is Hindi Media Spreading Negativity on RRR?Rajamouli, Jr NTR, and Ram Charan’s RRR is due for worldwide theatrical release on the 25th of this month. Now, a section of Mega and Nandamuri fans are making an argument, saying other language media is intentionally targeting RRR, fearing Telugu cinema’s domination in the pan-India circuit. But do they really have a point?

Firstly, Hindi media projected SS Rajamouli as a legendary director during Baahubali’s release. Bollywood media used to turn up in big numbers to all of Baahubali 2’s media meet events. The turnouts for Baahubali 2 events were bigger than the usual turnouts for mainstream Bollywood biggies. This shows that they are more than ready to encourage other language films if they come with the right content.

Also, Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Aamir Khan on-boarded RRR’s promotional campaign. They took part in the film’s promotional events with righteous intent.

For now, the Telugu crowd should stop making such silly complaints about other language media. If RRR is good, forget about the media management, the film will get a big push across the pan-India circuit. If the word of mouth is right, then the audience will not give two hoots about the media reports or reviews. They will turn up in big numbers to watch the film.

If the film is bad, then the media will start ridiculing the same, like the way did with Radhe Shyam recently.

At the end of the day, what really matters is the content. If the film has what it takes to pull the audience to theatres, then there is nothing stopping it. Be it media, or anything else.
