With recent upsurge of hit movies, the film studio Eros International Media is doing very well. In fact statistics for the second quarter shows that the revenue has almost doubled as compared to the revenue of the same quarter last year (from 244 cr to 480 Cr).
The credit for the theatre revenue goes largely to big time hit films which also did well on international markets such as ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’, ‘Uttama Villain’ (Tamil), ‘Masss’ (Tamil), ‘Aga Bai Arechaa 2’ (Marathi), ‘Gabbar’ and ‘Dil Dhadkne Do.’The latest Telugu film released last week Srimanthudu also opened smashingly at the box office and is still going strong.
And from what Sunil Lulla, the managing director of the studio tells media that they have a great line up of films ready to go for the rest of the year. These films include Pawan Kalyan’s ‘Sardaar’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’, among others.
