Embarrassing-Collections-for-BandobastThe opening day collections of Suriya’s ‘Bandobast‘ (Tamil ‘Kaapppaan’) are a clear indication that the Tamil star has his market big time in Telugu. ‘Bandobast’ has collected less than a crore, to be precise, around Rs. 70 lakhs.

This figure is lower than his previous release NGK that was a disaster not only in Telugu but also in Tamil. Coming to ‘Bandobast’ Tamil original ‘Kaappaan’, the opening of the movie is below par there, as well. Suriya’s movies in the recent past failed to give him at least one decent hit.

Though Suriya and the director, KV Anand’s first outing was ‘Ayan’ dubbed as ‘Veedokkade’. Their second outing ‘Brothers’ (‘Maattrraan’ in Tamil’ had been a disaster as well. Right from the teaser and the trailer, the movie failed to generate a hit movie buzz.

After the release, things only got worse with the mixed reviews pouring in and poor word of mouth. Tamil is his home turf, but Telugu was hard to get for any other language hero. However, Suriya seems to have lost his hard-earned market in Telugu.
