Telugu movie lovers had lost a great opportunity to boast about. SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Eega had missed out representing India at the prestigious Oscar awards. Eega along with 11 other Indian movies is in race for the India’s nomination for the category of ‘Best Foreign Language Film’. A panel of the Film Federation of India had watched all the 12 movies and had decided Barfi as India’s final nomination to the Oscars.
Interestingly, this is the 4th UTV film in the last 7 years to have been selected to represent India at the Academy awards. Earlier selections being Rang De Basanti (2006), Harishchandrachi Factory (2009) and Peepli Live (2010).Several movie critics feel that Barfi is a good pick and stands a good chance at the Oscars.
