RRR has arrived, creating a hurricane of collections at the box office. Words like phenomenal, earth-shattering are not enough to describe its mayhem at the ticket counter.
RRR has surpassed all the expectations and collected around 70Cr from Telugu states alone. It does not include the hire amount in Ceded, adding which the number rises to 74Cr.
Despite such an astronomical figure, would you believe that RRR has not set all-time record in any area? Well, it hasn’t in the East and West Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh. The reason is the restriction of shows. Only five shows were allowed, and no additional benefits.
Where there was no restriction in place, RRR doubled the previous best opener. In Nizam, for example, RRR collected more than 23 Cr. It is more than double the previous best by Bheemla Nayak.
Similarly, the Ceded collections show the collective might of Jr NTR, Ram Charan and SS Rajamouli. They have been the top drawing box office force in this territory for a long time.
The good news is that the second day has started on a solid note. The weekend numbers are going to be unimaginable by any count.
