Producers and exhibitors of major movies including Attarintiki Daredi are now worried about the collections during Dasara season as almost all the educational institutions cancelled festival holidays for the students. The institutions observed week-long bandh from 23rd to 30th as part of Samaikyandhra agitation and announced quarterly examination schedule that will make youngsters including kids busy till third week of October.
Family audience cannot be expected for the movies when youngsters particularly kids writing exams. After inordinate delay of EAMCET process, engineering colleges also began classes on October 1st and decided not to give holidays during Dasara season. It has become a big draw back for majore movies. Even Attarintiki Daredi exhibitors admitted that they observed drop in collections from the fifth day. Attarintiki Daredi movie has drawn huge collections with the holidays between 27th to 30th.
But heat begins for the movie from October 1st. “A 50 per cent drop in the collections was noticed on Tuesday” said K Sivaprasad, secretary, Vijayawada branch of A P Film Chamber of Commerce. It has a big disappointment for Pawan Kalyan fans who expected unprecedented records. As far as AV is concerned it was lucky, it had already got huge collections in the first four days. But what about other movies? Let us see how Ramayya Vastavayya and Doosuketla movies would make collections in the rough weather.
